Secondary Overview
At Central Christian, it is our goal to develop academically prepared students through a
Christ-centered education and to help them develop a biblical worldview. The Bible and
the teachings of Jesus Christ are woven into the total educational program through
grade level curriculum. Most, but not all, of our curriculum is from biblical worldview
publishers. The biblical worldview carries throughout our elective program as well as our
athletic teams and other extracurricular activities.

Our faculty provides a nurturing environment for students while encouraging them
toward our ultimate goal, the yielding of their lives to God and growth in their
relationship with Jesus Christ.
Along with the Kansas Board of Regents Kansas Scholar’s Curriculum, we provide the
opportunity for our high school students to complete up to 36 hours of dual credit
courses through Sterling College. Online classes through Sterling College are also
available. Another option is the Hutchinson Career and Technical Education Academy
through Hutchinson High School.
Other things to know about Secondary School at Central Christian:
Secondary chapel is held weekly at CCS. It includes a time of praise and worship led by
our students and a biblically-based teaching time from Campus Chaplin Mr. Chad Eigsti.
Each secondary class organizes and leads a chapel once during the school year, and
Impact Days are held annually in which a special guest speaker biblically challenges our
students.
Central Christian’s secondary students participate in Serve-a-Thon, a day serving the
community of Hutchinson as volunteers on various service projects. Each grade level
class is assigned a project or two based on 1 Peter 4:10 which states, “Each of you
should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of
God’s grace in its various forms.” Serve-a-Thon helps our secondary students to serve
one another and to focus on others before themselves.
Activities and events students enjoy during the school year include the following:
- Back-to-school high school retreat
- Football Jamboree and Moonlight Mile
- Kansas State High School Activities Association athletics and scholars bowl

Because we value the parent-school partnership in each student’s education, we hold
parent-teacher conferences twice a year, once in October and once in February. To
accommodate working families, we offer evening conferences as well as daytime
conferences. Regular communication happens frequently during the school year as
well.
