Physical Education Teacher

Literacy Specialists

Central Christian School of Hutchinson, Kansas is accepting applications for Literacy Specialists for the 2025–2026 school year beginning in August. The position is full-time. Qualified applicants should have a bachelor's degree (preferably in education, but an exception could be made for the righter person who has a bachelor's degree in a different field)

The ideal candidate should be a Christian believer who has a strong desire to learn about dyslexia and to help students who struggle with reading. This position works in conjunction with the director of the dyslexia program under the supervision of the elementary principal.

Teaching is delivered in one-on-one, or small group settings, with students from a variety of grades and instructional levels. This position is responsible for teaching Alphabetic Phonics, a structured literacy program for students who need extra help with reading. Training in Alphabetic Phonics will be provided for the right candidate which includes 2-weeks of classroom instruction through the Fundamental Learning Center during the summer.

Preschool and Child Care Teachers

We are looking for individuals to join our team of teachers and staff at both of our child care locations (Hutchinson and Buhler). Experience in a child care center and certification are preferred but not required. We will provide training to meet KDHE licensing requirements. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older. Central Christian Preschool and Child Care Center is licensed by KDHE to care for children six weeks – 5 years of age.

 Our goal is to provide a safe, nurturing, Christ-centered environment where children have the opportunity to develop a love for Jesus Christ and others. We are looking for teachers and staff who will encourage healthy spiritual, intellectual, emotional, and social growth of the children in our facility.

 This position is a full time, 12 month position, that has no evening or weekend hours, and includes tuition discounts for students at Central Christian School or at either preschool locations (Hutchinson or Buhler). Typical shifts are 7:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. or 1:00–6:00 p.m., but this may be amendable. Central Christian Preschool and Child Care is open from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Applicants must also be able to carry up to 30 lbs, get up and down off the floor, and stand for extended periods of time.

Toddler Teacher

  • 6-8 hours/day beginning at 7:00 a.m.

  • Responsible for planning developmentally appropriate learning activities and general child care for children 12 months to 2½ years old.

After School Care

Central Christian School of Hutchinson, Kansas is accepting applications for After School Care for the 2025–2026 school year beginning in August. The position is part-time. Qualified applicants should be 18+ years.

Cougar Club staff will devote time and support to ensure that students in grades K–6 are safe, happy, and cared for in a positive setting and provide an environment which is conducive to our students safety, health, and welfare. This position works under the supervision of the elementary principal.

Caregivers will follow a daily routine to achieve consistency ensuring students have time to relax and build friendships while also enjoying a snack, completing homework, recess, and other activities. This person must be able to work with students from a variety of grades and instructional levels.

Cougar Club is open on the days that CCS has a full day of school and begins at 3:30 and ends at 6:00 p.m. Cougar Club is not open on early dismissal days.

PT Cook/ Kitchen Assistant

Central Christian School of Hutchinson, Kansas is accepting applications for a PT Cook/Kitchen Assistant. Job duties include food preparation for lunch and break, serving food, cleaning, and dish washing. Applicants should be able to follow recipies for large quantities of food, have basic math skills, take training as needed, and maintain a clean working environment. Hours of work are from 7:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Elementary Paraprofessionals

Central Christian School of Hutchinson, Kansas is accepting applications for Elementary Paraprofessionals for the 2025–2026 school year. This position is full-time. Qualified applicants should be a Christian believer and be committed to teaching students from a Christian worldview.

A paraprofessional is an educational worker, usually without a teacher's license, who assists teachers with classroom management and organization. The paraprofessional (para) provides positive and nurturing guidance for students and attends to their academic and emotional needs.

Typical tasks include working with students in groups or individually during lessons, assisting the teacher with gathering materials for lesson plants, making copies, or helping in other capacities as the teacher requests.

Our expectations are that a para will:

  • Exemplify Christ in working cooperatively with the teacher and students.

  • Display a willingness to assist as asked with whatever the teacher needs.

  • Demonstrate patience in dealing with students of varying abilities.

  • Manage and correct inappropriate behavior with a caring, consistent, and compassionate attitude, making good judgements in accordance with school policy and procedures.

  • Be committed to each student's success academically and behaviorally.

  • Maintain confidentiality in regard to individual student' capabilities.

  • Positively represent the teacher and CCS staff to our community-at-large.

Activity Bus Drivers

Central Christian School of Hutchinson, Kansas, is accepting applications for bus drivers for the 2024–2025 school year. The positions are part-time. Qualified applicants should provide safe and efficient transportation for eligible students, enabling them to participate in the school's extracurricular programs to the extent possible. Buses hold up to 78 elementary-age students. Part-time means driving for field trips, mid-day school deliveries/dismissals, and other activities and events. This part-time job is during the school year and follows the school calendar. 

 Qualifications: 

  • Must be between the ages of 25 and 65; high school diploma or equivalent preferred

  • Possess a current commercial driver’s license (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements (transferrable to Kansas) or be capable of obtaining a Kansas CDL with P & S endorsements. CCS will pay for CDL training if necessary

  • Clean driving record

  • Successfully pass U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Drug/Alcohol Testing and Physical Examination

  • Successfully pass a background investigation by the Kansas Law Enforcement Division
