🏃♂️ Cross Country
Six middle school boys competed with heart and determination, pushing themselves each week to get better. Nearly everyone finished the season with a personal best! 💪
👏 A special shoutout to Tyson Yutzy, who medaled in every race and finished the season with an impressive 5:57 mile!
🏐 Volleyball
Our middle school volleyball girls showed up ready to work hard each day, giving their all in practices and games. They played with grit, supported one another, and showed tremendous growth in both skill and teamwork. We’re so proud of their determination and love for the game! 💥
🏈 Football
This was a rebuilding year for middle school football since it was the first team CCS has fielded in three years! The boys fully bought into the culture and structure being built in our football program. They finished the season 2–3, closing out with a thrilling road win against Norwich! We’re especially grateful for the five eighth graders who stepped up and helped lead the way this season.
Our middle school coaches are already excited for next season, and they look forward to continued growth in our young athletes! 💚💙

Thank you to everyone who came out, volunteered, and made the evening so special. We loved seeing our families and friends, and it was great to welcome new faces too!

🏐 Volleyball: Huge congratulations to Coach Mary, Coach Ivy, Coach Cam, and the Lady Cougars Volleyball team — your Class IA Div. II Sub-state Runner-Up! The team traveled 2½ hours to Hanover, took down the Elyria Eagles in three sets, and battled hard in the championship match against a tough Hanover team. We’re so proud of how much they’ve grown this season under the leadership of seniors Lexi Miller, Lily Lang, and Ava Newcome!
🏈 Football: Shoutout to Coach Matt Barnett, Mark Barnett, Shane Hines, and our Cougar Football team — your District 5 Champions with a perfect 8–0 regular season record! Plan to attend the next big game this Thursday, October 30, at 6:00 p.m. CCS will host the Stafford Trojans.
🧠 Scholars Bowl: Our varsity Scholars Bowl team also showed out this weekend at the largest tournament of the year at Wichita East! They made it into the 2nd flight of bracket play and defeated Wichita North before being eliminated. Great start to the season. We can’t wait to see what’s next!

🍬🔬 Science is sweet!
Our third-graders recently had a hands-on biology activity in which they constructed animal cell models using Jello, Fruit by the Foot, and jelly beans. Each component represented a different part of the cell. What a fun and tasty way to learn! 🧫🍒

They recently visited the Sedgwick County Zoo, where they learned about fire safety from local firefighters, practiced CPR, explored emergency equipment, and even got to step inside an ambulance! 🚒🩺🐘
Back at school, they’ve been studying minerals and rocks with a special guest — Jack Jarrot, a friend of CCS whose family has deep roots in our school community. Each year, Jack shares his amazing rock collection and helps bring our science lessons to life. 🪨💡
We love seeing our students so engaged and excited about learning!

Way to go, Lady Cougars! Let's keep the momentum going!
If your student missed the original photo day, don’t worry — we already know who those students are and plan to take their photo on Re-Take Day.
If you would like your student to have their photo re-taken (not their first photo), please contact Amber Osner at aosner@cougarsccs.com to add them to the schedule.

We’re so thankful for opportunities like this to learn, laugh, and enjoy God’s creation together.

Our Lady Cougars have been on fire 🔥 — finishing 2nd in league play and holding an impressive 17–2 record since mid-September!
This will also be the final home game for our amazing senior leaders, so let’s pack the gym and show them the Cougar pride they deserve! 💚💙

For 35 years, Dan Meers went to work like many other men, dressed in a suit. The only difference? His suit had a tail. 🐺
As the beloved KC Wolf, Dan brought joy, laughter, and inspiration to millions of fans around the world. From his early days as Truman the Tiger at Mizzou to his long career with the Kansas City Chiefs, Dan has embodied heart, humor, and hard work.
Behind the costume is a man of deep faith and purpose. After surviving a life-changing stunt accident in 2013, Dan turned his story into one of hope and resilience, sharing a message that reminds us that “God didn’t put us on this earth to make a living… He put us here to make an impact.”
We are honored to welcome Dan Meers, speaker, author, and the man behind KC Wolf, to our annual Stewardship Dinner. His story will make you laugh, think, and leave inspired to live with greater purpose.
