We can’t wait to see our little Cougars cheering in the stands!

We are so proud of our middle school basketball teams and the growth we’re seeing both on and off the court as they compete with excellence and Christlike character.
From MS Boys Basketball Coach Ryan Duft:
We have a young group that continues to get better each day! The thing we are most proud of is that our team is growing in Christ as they compete, learn, and support one another.
From MS Girls Basketball Coach AJ Caldwell:
The girls are working incredibly hard this season! We have already picked up a big win against Skyline on our home floor, and we're looking forward to building on that momentum after Christmas break with more wins. We are so proud of their work ethic and the way they encourage one another as a team.
Way to go, Cougars! We are thankful for coaches who intentionally pour into our student-athletes and for families who support them throughout the season. May everything we do, on the court and beyond, bring glory to God.

A new year means your student is another year older, and we’d love to help you make their birthday extra special! 🥳
For just $10, your child’s name can be featured on our school’s electronic message board on 30th Avenue for their birthday. What a fun surprise and a great way to make them feel celebrated!
📍 Stop by the school office to sign up!

Come hear what’s happening, share memories, and start the year encouraged and connected. We can’t wait to visit with you! 💚

🏫✨ We’re Back to School and Back on the Court! 🏀✨
There’s nothing like the energy of students back from break and high school basketball in our home gymnasium! We’re excited to welcome our CCS families and community as our teams tip off at CCS against the Medicine Lodge Indians this evening.
Come fill the stands, and cheer loudly as we make our home court come alive!💚🐾
📣 See you at the game. Go, Cougars!

From all of us at CCS, we pray your family experiences a season overflowing with joy, fellowship, and the true meaning of Christmas.

Early this morning, a bomb threat was made to Central Christian School. Out of an abundance of caution, the school immediately evacuated students from the premises upon becoming aware of the threat and promptly contacted local authorities. While we did not believe this to be a credible threat, we took every precaution to ensure the safety of our students and staff.
The Hutchinson Police Department conducted a thorough sweep of the entire campus, including every classroom and all areas of the building, and found no device or evidence of a threat. We are extremely grateful for our partnership with the Hutchinson Police Department and for their quick, diligent response in ensuring the safety of everyone on campus.
The Police Department has shared with our administrative team that similar automated threats have been made to other schools across the country in recent days, including from the same phone number that contacted us. This information indicates that this was not a specific or targeted threat toward our school.
While this is not how we hoped to begin Christmas break—and we know our students were looking forward to their Christmas parties—we believe this was the right decision. Any threat to our school, regardless of perceived severity, will always be taken seriously.
We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. As we celebrate this season, may we reflect on the blessing of what Christ has done for us—dying in our place and offering new life to all who believe. Let us run to Him with full assurance of faith.
Sincerely,
Dr. John Walker, Superintendent

Did you know that our superintendent, Dr. John Walker, and his son Collin wrote and published a short novel together? Collin is a CCS 5th grader!
They started this project months ago. After Dr. Walker shared stories from his backpacking trips with his kids, Collin thought he could make the story better and wanted to write a short novel. So, together they wrote Campgrounds: The Ouachita Mountains, an adventurous short novel. Way to go, Collin and Dr. Walker!

Last night, our K–12 students filled the stage with music, praise, and the true spirit of Christmas at our Annual Christmas Concert! 🎶
We are so grateful to all who joined us to celebrate the birth of our Savior. It’s always a blessing to see our students sharing their gifts and glorifying God through music.
A heartfelt thank you to Mrs. Angie Huck and Mrs. Charlene Reynolds, our dedicated music directors, for all they do in teaching and guiding our students to share their gifts with joy.

Thank you for caring so well for one another!

👫 Seventh grade Big Buddies spent time with our early education students, sharing fun activities and making memories together.
🚌 Sixth grade Career Quest visited Collins Bus to tour the facility and explore the wide variety of career opportunities available. Career Quest offers career exploration opportunities to Reno County 6th grade students to help bridge the gap between education and business.
🚀 Fifth graders had an informative time at Kansas Starbase in Salina, exploring science, technology, engineering, and more!
📚 First graders enjoyed story time with Grandma Johnston, who reads favorite books, brings puppets, and spends one-on-one time listening to students read.
We love seeing our students grow academically, socially, and in their career awareness!
