The CCS Lady Cougars are heading into basketball sub-state semifinals, and the momentum couldn’t be stronger! 💚🤍

They will take on the Peabody-Burns Warriors in the CCS gym tonight (Monday, March 2) at 6:00 p.m.

As they head into postseason play, we are reminded that their strength comes not only from preparation and talent, but from the Lord who guides their steps.

The Lady Cougars closed out the regular season with a commanding 41–11 victory over Pratt Skyline, securing their second consecutive undefeated HOPL championship. With a 21–2 record and a No. 1 ranking in Class 1A Division II, this team has shown determination, discipline, and unity every step of the way.

Bring your family, friends, and CCS spirit! This is one can’t-miss matchup as our girls fight their way toward the next step in the postseason. 🏀

At our final home basketball game last week, we had the joy of honoring senior athletes and scholars of Central Christian School. 🏀📚

To our senior basketball players, thank you for the heart you have shown on the court and the leadership you have shown throughout the season. You have represented CCS with perseverance and faithfulness. The scoreboard never fully tells the story of the early mornings, the extra drills, the encouragement in the huddles, and the character you displayed in every win and every tough loss. We are proud of the way you competed and honored the Lord through your commitment.

To our senior scholars bowl participants, what an incredible season! Your advancing to State was a tremendous accomplishment, and you carried yourselves with confidence and determination. Finishing pool play with a 3–2 record placed CCS in a five-way tie. In a heartbreaking margin-of-victory tiebreaker, you placed fourth in that tie, missing the championship round by just one spot. While the outcome was difficult, your performance was outstanding. You proved that academic achievement and competitive spirit go hand in hand.

Seniors, you have modeled what it looks like to pursue excellence while keeping Christ at the center. You have set a powerful example for younger students who are watching and learning from you.

Dr. Walker will be competing in the Prairie Spirit 100. He's once again taking on the challenge of running 100 miles to raise awareness and support for tuition assistance, helping make a biblical education more accessible to families who desire it. Last time Dr. Walker ran 101.5 miles, and the Lord graciously provided almost $20,000!

Would you consider joining him in this effort? Pledge an amount per mile or give a flat donation, and 100% of the proceeds will go toward CCS tuition assistance.

His commitment and perseverance are a meaningful example to our students and school community. We are thankful for his willingness to take on this challenge and represent our school. To submit a pledge, click the button below.

Our high school boys basketball team stepped onto the court for the sub-state quarterfinal matchup against Chetopa last night with focus and determination. By the end of the game, the scoreboard showed a 71-16 victory for the Cougars. But the road to the championship is never just about the scoreboard.

Last night's win represents more than one strong night on the court. It reflects months of commitment, coaches investing in their players, and teammates choosing to trust one another in big and little moments.

This group continues to grow. Not just as athletes, but as young men who compete with character and heart. And they aren't just playing for a title. They’re playing for each other.

Now the journey continues. Our boys advance to the semifinal game at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 28, against Marmaton Valley.

🏀 Middle School Basketball Season Recap 🏀

Our middle school basketball seasons have come to a close, and we're so proud of how our student-athletes competed in this year’s Heart of the Plains League tournaments. Beyond the scores and standings, we saw growth and perseverance displayed on and off the court.

Middle School Boys Head Basketball Coach, Ryan Duft:
“I am very proud of our middle school boys basketball team. They were a joy to coach, and it was exciting to see the growth of our team throughout the year—not only on the basketball court, but also in their walk with the Lord. Although we had a young team, they worked hard and finished sixth in league play. I am especially proud of our C team, who finished the season undefeated with a 6–0 record. I am looking forward to next year as we continue to build on the foundation that was started this season.”

Middle School Girls Head Basketball Coach, AJ Caldwell:
“The girls finished out their season in the first round of the HOPL tournament. While we did not want the season to end so soon, we are so proud of the girls and the progress they made this year! We ended up finishing undefeated at home against league opponents, which is something to be incredibly proud of! We look forward to getting better during the off-season as we prepare for next year! Go, Cougars!

Way to go, Cougars! Thank you to our coaches, families, and fans for supporting our middle school athletes.

Although our 100th day of school has passed, the joy from that celebration still makes us smile. Our students in Grades K–2 had so much fun dressing up and marking an exciting milestone in their school year.

And, we give a shout-out to our creative teachers who joined in on the fun right alongside their students. Fun outfits made the day even more special. We love seeing our teachers celebrate learning and create memorable moments for our students!

Our elementary students had a lot of fun celebrating Valentine’s Day. Times like these remind us that the greatest example of love comes from Christ Himself.

At Central Christian, we teach students that love is more than cards and treats. It's shown through generosity, compassion, patience, and caring for one another. As Scripture reminds us, “We love because He first loved us.” (1 John 4:19).

We are grateful that we can celebrate Christ’s love and encourage our students to reflect that love in the way they treat others.
